Mom was released from the nursing home yesterday. Hooray!
She and Dad will move over to Sumner tomorrow. We end up with a surly himalayan cat for the time being (which is totally going to displease my already put-out-by-the-baby-cat princess girl cat). I'm praying that there is no bloodshed.
We're going on the theory, right now, that this move might be temporary, and that if her health sufficiently recovers, they can move back to their home in Walla Walla in the spring. gymgeek and I might get to take a trip to Walla Walla over the Thanksgiving holiday to finish winterizing their house. It'll be different, since when we're over there we usually have a full plate of parental things to accomplish. It'll be nice to have less people obligations, and have the time to show him the things I love about Walla Walla.
Sounds like I'm going to take over the majority of the bill-paying for Mom and Dad, and that's okay. I've always handled other people's money much better than I handle my own (strange confession, coming from someone who's done payroll for a living, but still, it's true!).
It's so seriously gray out there today. I'm really happy for the golden leaves of the maple tree outside my office window, it gives a burst of color out there. But I can't complain (okay, I can, but I shouldn't) because we really need some moisture, or else I'm going to be sneaking out in the middle of the night next summer to water my plants.
We're going to the gym tonight. We've fallen out of the habit, and we really need to get back into it. I'd like to start playing soccer again in January, and that means being able to run a little, at least. Well, without turning beet red and doubling over like I'm about to throw up. I keep saying I'm going to get onto the Body for Life plan, but so far, it just hasn't happened. I really should sign up for tai chi, too.
Oh well, back to the salt mines.
