(and this working a full day is killing me! I got used to the half-days when sisterfish125 was here. Playing tourist for half of each day was fun!)
It’s been a productive day, though, in a paper-shuffling kind of way. And I think I’ve finally solved our little L&I problem. (it’s only taken 8 months, geesh).
Tonight, I get to go home and play in my yard for a little while, cook indian food for dinner (chicken marsala, sag paneer and naan for those keeping track), go to the gym (Hooray!!!) and do laundry.
I hope the cats have enjoyed having the house to themselves. I hope they’re both alive when I get home. Batty claimed a majority of the bed last night, gymgeek claims that he “purrs too loud”, but didn’t wake up for the hissing at 4 a.m., when Batty was between our heads and Sophia was between our feet.
Sunday was a beautiful day. We got up at 4 a.m. to take sisterfish125 to the airport, came home and went back to bed, getting up to go to a lovely wedding in Fremont. After the “check engine” light in the Rav4 refused to go off, we decided that driving 50 miles each way to a family get-together was a bad idea, and spend the rest of day in relatively lazy bliss. While I went to Trader Joe’s, gymgeek assembled our new entryway bench/shoerack. It makes a huge difference in the entryway. Now, we just have to find the right peg hooks for coats and such and it’s done.
So, now to figure out what to do with the gateleg table, that’s sat in the entryway for two years (I think it’s going to the basement as a future project) and the old beat-up shelves (I think they may become a bonfire) and a coatrack. Stuff. Where does it all come from?
It’s a glorious sunny day out there and I want to be outside now.
