It also means that I'm catching up on the couple weekends (and most of a week) of being gone, trying to get the house in some sort of order by Saturday (housewarming party....if, in the madness you didn't get an invitation for Saturday, please don't be offended, just let me know and I'll send you all the details!!!), be sympathetic to John, who's on the 3rd or 4th week of a bad sinus cold, keep track of my mother's progress, get ready for Jennifer's visit and...and...and......I still need a clone...
And we're getting our new kitten on Thursday. *bounce*
But tonight we made good progress. John assembled Ikea shelves for the office and emptied several more boxes, I cleaned out stray boxes in the dining room and have discovered, for certain, that there is a dining room table under there! I think we can pull this off...
The Cuddly Duddly Dog that I won when I was in Kindergarten, playing the Grand Prize Game on Bozo's Circus is wearing John's straw panama-style hat. He looks very cute for a 35 year old stuffed dog. :)
Mom's recovering nicely. The physical therapist was out to see her today, and prescribed some walking exercises. Until she has a little bit more stamina, he's holding off on the other strengthening exercises. But she sounds really upbeat, and talking about getting a puppy, since she's planning on being able to take it for walks. For someone who, a couple weeks ago, didn't want to buy more than a week's worth of groceries, that's pretty optimistic. And it makes me happy.
Well, I suppose I'd better hit the hay. Tomorrow's going to be a long day. Our Parent company passed out "commerative pins" for tomorrow, and will observe a moment of silence at noon, in each timezone. As the HR Manager, politically I have to support this movement, even though I'm not totally sure how I feel about it.
My flag will be out tomorrow, but I don't think I'm going to take part in any other public memorials (although The Rolling Requiem is going to be cool...but that's mostly because I love Requiem.
Bed beckons. A year ago today, I dyed my hair.
