I'm headed off, on Friday for 10 glorious days, mostly in the Southwest. My bestest-friend-who's-not-my-boyfriend and I make a trip that ends up in Santa Fe every August. This year, we're going to Estes Park, CO and doing some exploring in Rocky Mountain National Park, and spending some time in Taos before landing in Santa Fe.
But before then, oh my. There's a lot to do. John's going to do a vast majority of his moving while I'm gone, and I'm try desperately to get things that are already in the house put away before he brings more stuff over, just to make it easier. We packed most of his kitchen stuff last night, and now that the rest of the Virguleans ( noun the inhabitants of House Virgule, located in the Eastlake/Portage Bay area of Seattle) have decided to move as well, everyone's packing. And trust me, you don't even want to think about how many books unmisha has. You don't. I was very happy to recommend my favorite movers to them. It'll be worth every penny.
Then, I'm trying to tie things together at work, too.
We just finished our first round of focal reviews (having switched from an anniversary system). I had a great review, and was officially promoted to HR Manager, which makes me happy.
Raises were conservative, but I knew that, going in. It's just nice to get the recognition that I'm doing a good job.
So, with a long to-do list, I probably should get back to work, huh?
