Glorious Day!

What a glorious day to have to stay home and babysit the construction guys putting in new windows. Update: 9 of 14 done, they look great! The concept of windows that open and close easily and have screens (other than those slidey ones you stick in and shut the window around) is a good one.

It's 5:41 pm, still light and a balmy 61 degrees out there. I've been happily digging in the yard for hours and hours. The bed along the north side of the back yard fence is officially a mixed perennial bed now--rather than a bed of dandelions and crab grass. Tomorrow, I put in the daylilies (all 25 feet of them) and the crocosmia. The dahlias will go in a little later. I see larkspur and poppies out there, as well, in my mind's eye. Maybe a peony or several and some hellebores, for spring and winter interest... I just can't wait any longer to get started, so we'll just have to be careful when we build the fence.

Dinner's happily cooking away in the crockpot, it's about time to go eat that, then go have a chat with my trainer about the diet eating plan he designed for me. It has about 600 more calories per day than the one John's been being successful with, and just doesn't work for me.

Then home to finish moving some stuff out of the way for tomorrow's window adventures (kitchen, laundry room and living room).

Oh, and if you're not watching Sons And Daughters on the TV, you're missing a very, very, very funny show.
