Thursday was a Master Gardener's Clinic Meeting, which is really a good excuse to have a potluck and look at someone's garden. I took the bus over to the meeting (since it started at 6:30) and John came and picked me up afterward, and we headed to the gym.
Friday morning, we collected unmisha and voyaged to Yakima, in search of inexpensive, fresh asparagus. After a few false starts, some samples of red wine and cheese, we found much good asparagus. We brought home a little over 60 pounds of it. Mmmm. Asparagus.
Got home just in time for rush hour, dropped Misha off, ran home to change clothes and pick up tickets and headed for The Timberline to meet friends for another performance of "Saucy Jack and the Space Vixens". I believe a good time was had by all.
After that, we headed for a midnight showing of The Aristocrats, a documentary about the filthiest joke ever told. It was hysterical, even in the middle of the night (the movie started a little late). Dropped Chris off, got home after 3. Crashed.
Up the next morning to be in line before 10 am for Star Wars.
Home for a nap before the planned beach burn, but then the rain moved in. Got the lawn mowed, settled down for a quick nap and suddenly it was bedtime.
Up the next morning to be in line for the Secret Film Festival (we were there a little after 9, not bad). The movie was okay.
After the Secret, collected Misha, ran to Costco for supplies and stuff, and started making pickled asparagus. Mmmm. We took the ends and boiled them down for stock for asparagus soup. Mmmm. Many hours later, we had 26.5 quarters of pickled asparagus and garlic, and 4 batches of cream of asparagus soup. Mmmm.
It was really a relief to come to work on Monday, even with a dentist's appointment in the middle of the day.
