1/4 C Brown Sugar
1/4-1/2 C Chopped Pecans
Spread over one wheel of Brie.
Bake at 350 for about 15 minutes, or until mixture gets a little bubbly.
Serve with sliced baguettes or sturdy crackers.
Okay, I think I had a little too much red wine last night (it goes really well with the brie, above). I love book club. It's given me an opportunity to meet new people, and at least once a month, an excuse to drink lots of red wine, eat olives and cheese and other good food.
This month's book was "The Boy He Left Behind: A Man's Search for His Lost Father" by Mark Matosek. A story of a gay man, nearing 40, who starts looking for his father, who walked out on the family when he was a boy. A little tedious at first, I thought, and a bit angsty, but then again, I suppose it's an angsty subject.
Led to a good discussion, though, of writing autobiography, and how much you can embellish autobiography without being absurd. And a good appreciation for my (in comparison) normal and dull family. :)
Next month: Clockwork Orange. Everyone says the book is way different than the movie.
