Holiday Countdown

I really don't want to work today. There's just so much else to do. Luckily, I get to take off early and help take the bounty of our office Giving Tree down to a local women and family shelter.

Yesterday was a very good day. :) I left the office at noon, had lunch with a good friend, who's hopefully being offered a new job this afternoon, sitting out in the sunshine, eating the best BBQ sandwiches in the Seattle Area. Forgive me, those of you who believe that Dixie's is the best, I'm a firm Pecos Pit girl. Pork, extra messy, with a side spike. It doesn't get much better than that.

After lunch, Mark helped me grab some of the Christmas stuff from storage. I love our storage place, but the fact that they close at 6 pm makes it hard to get things during the week. So tonight, I get to get my tree!
I want to get it set up, and lighted tonight. Then I'll finish decorating it tomorrow (if I don't stay up and finish tonight!).

After the storage adventure, I hopped on Community Transit and headed to Woodinville, to meet gymgeek and some of his co-workers to see The Last Samurai, which I really enjoyed. Dropped gymgeek off at his brother's, so they could geek, and went home to make low-fat cookies for the office cookie exchange. Just what I need--more cookies and fudge. :)

Okay, back to work. I need to crack my own whip.

I have generous co-workers...

I'm off to help deliver our pickup load full of gifts and food that my office contributed, donated and collected for the Giving Tree for the UGM's Women and Family shelter..

It's a good feeling. I have generous co-workers. We've collected a load of things, given nearly $500 to the Toys for Tots Campaign, and $150 to the Moyer Foundation. We help others do good things. That's a good core for a company to have.

That's what keeps me here--the co-workers. The job often sucks, but the people are incredible.
