Random musings...

Sometimes, working with the health care family statistics bugs me, because they really don't accurately reflect reality. Tell me what you think....

Poll #189289 Single, Married, Divorced, or what?

If you're not married, but in a commited relationship, are you

single (but not really)
0(0.0%)
married (but not in the eyes of the govt or law)
0(0.0%)
domestically partnered?
6(42.9%)
shacked up?
2(14.3%)
thinking it's nobody's business but your own..
6(42.9%)

So, if you were married, and aren't any longer (and your ex-spouse didn't die a horrible painful death) are you

divorced, for ever and ever
2(16.7%)
divorced for 1 year, then revert to single
0(0.0%)
single as soon as the paperwork is final
6(50.0%)
really really happy
4(33.3%)

How do you think a company should provide health care benefits?

To whoever you claim as your family
3(20.0%)
Only to same sex domestic partners, because straight people shacking up *could* get married
2(13.3%)
only to employees, legal spouses and children
1(6.7%)
The government should provide health care for everyone
8(53.3%)
Health care should be totally market driven.

Triumph over hors d'oeuvres

I spent a lot of time eating hors d'oeuvres last weekend.
It's the nature of reunions, finger food, that you balance on a plate, while you gesticulate and talk with the other hand, and hope that you don't slop your wine.

But I did kinda think about what I was eating, and ate more fruit than desserts, and tried to avoid the fried stuff.

And I lost weight! Woo hoo! Lost the pound I'd gained last week, and another one besides.

My new goal is to be under 200 by New Years. I believe I can do this.
