There have been things going on in my life other than managing cat crises, honest!

Parental Issues
My parents are safely moved from Walla Walla to Sumner, at least for the next few months.
We've all agreed to reassess the health/living situation in a few months, and depending on how Mom's health, and Dad's deterioration go, re-evaluate their ability to live independently. It's got to be hard for them, though. They're 84 (Mom) and 88 (Dad) and having a lot of their choices being taken away from them right now. But they're much happier living with their granddaughter than being in an assisted living facility.

Sunday night, I went with gymgeek, axl and a couple other friends to see Brad. The concert started much later than we expected, but it was still wonderful. I was less than a dozen feet from Stone Gossard, watching and listening to him perform magic with his guitar. I sure felt old, though, watching my watch and thinking "Oh god, it's after 11:30 on a Sunday night. I'm going to be so dead tomorrow!".

We're still buying stuff for the fish tank--the small one. We haven't even started on the saltwater tank yet. Oh well, they're fun, and the guppies are pretty.

We made a weekend trip to Ikea, we're blaming it on sisterfish125's dad. We know better than to expect to zip in and out on a weekend, but we did it anyway.
Got the rest of the shelving components that we need for the office, found a rolling stand for the tv in the bedroom, and stayed fairly close to the straight and narrow of our list.

Holiday Planning
We're going to do Thanksgiving with my family, and then Christmas with gymgeek's family. It's easier, now that our families are about 10 miles apart. We're going to go to Victoria, BC with gymgeek's folks for 4 days before Christmas. It should be fun. I've only been to Victoria once, and it was only for an afternoon. I'm looking forward to it.

And now that the house is finally being beaten into submission (the joys of uniting two packrats!), I'm looking forward to decorating for the holidays. I'm sure that Batty's going to see the tree as his personal toy, though. I just know it.

I applied for the Master Gardener's program, and should hear something by the beginning of December. If I get in, my boss has okayed working 4 10s for the 10weeks of the program. The classes are all day classes, once a week, for 10 weeks. :)

If I don't get accepted there, I think I'm going to work on my Professional certification in Human Resources. There's a 12 week class being held at Seattle Pacific University, which is less than a mile from home. And work will pay for it. 3 months of basically graduate level HR work, though. That'll be fun. The class is offered as professional certification, or as credits in the Graduate Business School.

We went to the gym last night, which means I'm ravenous today.
Time to go get my yogurt.
