Random Musings...

My friend Bobbi never should have told me that there were plants available on ebay auctions. This could be a dangerous thing.

I got the joyous duty of telling my mother that she's going to be in the nursing home for at least 3-4 weeks. I admit I fudged, and just said "several weeks, whatever it takes.". She took it pretty well. I think she's realized that her body really does need some serious time off to recover.

I also decided that people may be getting the wrong impression when I say my mom is in a rehab facility. (she is, it's a cardiac rehab center). Sounds like she has a problem with booze or drugs.

And I ordered her a private phone line, mostly because she keeps hanging up on me with the portable phone the facility uses. Well, that and so she can make outbound calls, too.

Book Club tm was at my house last night. I'm really glad that ein_traum met Debra on the bus a couple years ago, and got us invited to this group. It's a great group of people, and red wine always facilitates interesting discussions, even if sometimes the book gets laid by the wayside. The book we read was Wild Life by Molly Gloss. It was the book picked as one of the "If All Of Seattle Could Read the Same Book" books from a program sponsored by the Seattle Public Library. I enjoyed the book, even if it was a little far-fetched at times.

The evening closed with a duet of Glenn Campbell songs.

I drank way too much red wine. But the apple crisp was excellent, if I say so myself. And there's leftovers for tonight!

gymgeek is making lasagne tonight. My honey makes the bestest lasagne. I'm looking forward to it.

Elliott Bay has disappeared behind a wall of gray. I know it's out there, I just can't see it. I'm really going to miss my view of the Bay when we move to our new digs in late December/Early January.

Okay, I really should be productive. My desk is a monument to the fact that there is no such thing as a paperless office. Time to file.
