Nice, relaxing, BUSY weekend.

Friday Night: A Conversation with John Waters, as part of the Seattle International Film Festival. Great idea in concept, but the microphones weren't working well, and about half of the audience couldn't hear the conversation. After much complaining by the audience, they finally fixed it. We didn't stay for the screening of Female Trouble though, since it didn't get started until almost midnight.

Saturday: BASEBALL! The Cubs were in town for the first ever Seattle Mariners/Chicago Cubs series. I'd bought tickets back in JANUARY since both my mom and gymgeek's grandma are big Cubs fans. Mom couldn't come over, but the rest of us had a great time.

Got home from the game, curled up and took a nap. It was a good thing.

Sunday: The Secret Film Festival. I love this part of the Seattle International Film Festival. You buy a pass for 4 or 5 movies. You don't know what you're going to see. You wait in line (if you're a die-hard, like we are) for several hours every Sunday morning during the festival. You sign an oath that you won't disclose what you saw. It's great fun. Sometimes the movies are horrid, sometimes the movies are great. Yesterday's was very very good. I hope that I get another chance to see it again.

After the film, we ran errands, discovered that 18 bags of topsoil is about the limit of what the Rav4 wants to hold, and then headed to Tacoma for a paella feed/graduation party. Much good food and drink was consumed, and we arrived back home, after 10, tired and ready for bed.

Today, I'm just hoping that these clouds do clear off for the partial eclipse. They're supposed to!
