I am so glad that it's Friday.

Even though it's been a quiet week, it's still been a week where my attitude (about work) absolutely sucks, I gained weight (which I expected), and just haven't had enough time (or organization) to get all the things done that I wanted to get done.

On the other hand, I've spent plenty of quality time snuggling with my sweetie, I'm back on my exercise and eating plan, the weekend is promised to be sunny and warm, and other than the D&D group coming over on Saturday (gymgeek plays, I don't), I have no plans for the weekend. I see much connecting with dirt and plants in my immediate future.

And the window, broken on New Year's Day, is finally repaired. My sweetie is my favorite handyman. :) I need to sand down the old moulding, now that it's reinstalled, and touch up the paint. But the ugly cardboard is gone!

I tried starting some yogurt cheese last night. You know, the kind where you put plain yogurt in a coffee filter or cheese cloth and let it drain to a semi-solid? I don't think that Safeway's fatfree plain yogurt was the best choice, there--there doesn't seem to be much draining out of it. I think I may have to stop for some goat cheese or something for the polenta pizza I have planned for dinner.

Okay, time to work. Time to ignore the big box of TopPot Donuts sitting on the filing cabinet over there. With you all as my witness, I will not eat a donut today!

Yogurt Cheese
Safeway plain likely has too much gelatin in it and not enough actual yogurt. You might have to check the ingredients of different brands and see if you can get plain yogurt without gelatin or gelatin that's not too high on the list of ingredients. I wish Graham Kerr still had his programs on TV, he was the king of strained yogurt.

By the way, there are about forty boxes of Krispy Kreme doughnuts downstairs from my office right now, and while they're not as good as Top Pot, they are much closer. I still haven't eaten any and won't.
