Back to the grind.

It was a thoroughly relaxing weekend.

It was really hard to get out of the warmth of the bed this morning. Two cats and John make it a warm and comfy place to be.

Friday's interview went well, I think. I'll try to wait patiently for the next step.

Saturday was splendiforous. I met hiddeneye at the Convention Center and we did the plant show.
I think my utility room could now double as the backstock room for B&D Lilies. There are going to be masses of lilies in my yard this year. Oriental, Asiatic, Trumpet, Hybrid, Day, Pineapple, Fox tail and Giant Himalayan Lilies. I can't wait! (Detailed list of new plant acquisitions to follow, when I get to it!)

Flower shopping and dreaming, thai food and lots of good talk. It was a good day.

The next morning, we all went to brunch, and then headed off for her second take at the show, and gymgeek and I had a totally lazy day. We curled up on the couch, watched TV and DVDs, and were general lazy bums. It was great.

No wonder coming back to the office seemed like a bad idea. Esepcially since it's sunny and in the 40s out there. I could be home prepping lily beds!

Oh well, next weekend is a three day weekend. Life is good.

Not to encourage you or anything, but you do realize you pass B&D Lilies on the way out here, don't you?
*ducks and grins*

Oh yeah, I know that. I really want to visit them this summer...not that I'm going to wait until then to come visit y'all, but....

I'm bummed that the Lavender Festival and the Seafair Triathlon are the same weekend. I was hoping to spend two days out there this year, but I have to be in Seattle on both Saturday and Sunday.

Lavender Festival starts on Wednesday though! Lee recommends coming on Weds and leaving on Thurs... by Fri it will be a madhouse. I think we're going to be vyying for b&b lodging that weekend, but Weds night we ought to have space for you & Rhonda (and the boys, if you'd like)... we'd just need to know soon, so we can hold the rooms for you.

On Wednesday? Craft shows and all?
I thought it started on Friday, and ran through Sunday.

Rhonda and I took Friday off last year to come see.

Hmmmm. Lee keeps telling me it starts on Wednesday, but nothing listed on the website starts before Friday... although the street fair apparently runs Saturday through Tuesday. Let me pester Lee and see where he's getting his info and find out what he means.

Lee says that last year, closer to the festival, all of the businesses/farms began promoting "Come early, Miss the mess!" They're there, they're ready for visitors, they're happy to have you. Things got big enough last year, that's what they began pushing for. Now, if you just gotta have the workshops and demonstrations then yeah, you're probably out of luck. But if you just want to enjoy the scenery and visit the farms, you're welcome to come hang with us. Lee says that closer to the festival date we'll know more about what's going on mid-week.

Oh Please, Please do take photos of the lilies when they are in bloom and post them or pass them my way. They're my especial favourites, and I don't get enough sun for them here, nor do I have enough room.
