His Dark Materials, by Philip Pullman

It's all kasha's fault for mentioning this series. I'm loving it. I was so sad to be at home last night and finish The Subtle Knife (so sad!) and remember that I'd left The Amber Spyglass at the office. I can't wait for lunchtime to start reading!

I can't either!

I can see myself buying this (I've got them from the Library now) just to be able to read and re-read them.

GOOD series! *nodnod* I need to re-read it again soon. Maybe just buy the box set sometime.

They've done a stage version of it in England and it'll be filmed shortly. Both of which are cool but the books... ah.

My dad wants me to re-read them so he can debate the subtexts. Go figure ;)

Tell your folks "HI!" from me!
Oh lord, wouldn't that be a fun discussion with your dad.
Tell him "Hi and just how bad was religious school for Philip Pullman?" from me.

Someday, I want to get him that pope christmas ornament. I swear.

Oh we've had bits and pieces of the conversation already and it's pretty interesting. Far more interesting, of course, was his "conversion" to the books, going from "are you sure I'd like this?" before reading the first to "What a wonderful series!" at the end of the third. Too funny :)

And yes... definitely the pope ornament :)

I read the first book...picked up the second one....and never started reading it. Then classes started. And now I don't want to read anything for lesuire becauce I have so much school work to read.

I really do need to pick it up again. It is just sitting there in the living room crying "read me!"
