Aaaaah. Vacation.

Vegas is hot. hot. hot. hot. But we're loving it. There's water misters everywhere, and it's a nice shot of cool to walk through them.

Spent yesterday afternoon wandering from Paris to the Venetian, stopping and gambling at nearly every casino in between. Some up, some down. Lots of people watching, some shopping. John bought me the cutest Eyore etching.

Had an early evening, bought a bottle of wine from the wine shop downstairs, and had room service in. How decadent--eating in our skivvies, watching the New Detectives (or Forensic Files or some such), drinking good French wine and eating goat cheese on good french bread.

Slept in this morning, then spent a couple hours poolside, peoplewatching and catching some rays.

Now off to wander more. We're thinking maybe IMax Matrix Reloaded tonight.

And hoping that we have the winning Washington State Lotto ticket in our wallet....

Are you going to ride the Stratosphere?
The Big Shot is a much better ride than the roller coaster -

Wife and I had a great time when we went there and got married!

Re: Are you going to ride the Stratosphere?
I don't know if we'll get down there or not.

The roller coaster is fairly lame--high up, but a non-thrill other than that.
The Big Shot scares me. :)

I'm such a geek....
Tuesday night would be "New Detectives" on Discovery, and "Forensic Files" on CourtTV at 9.

Sounds like you're having fun though!
Have you won anything big (or not so big) yet??

(and, did you go to Fremont Street for the cheap prime rib yet?)

Re: I'm such a geek....
Geek girl. :) I went to sleep before I discovered what happened the the Someone Wayne
Someone (why do so many serial killers have Wayne as a name?) with his silver camo paint and car jacking across the midwest. I vaguely remember it (from the mid-80s).

We haven't been downtown yet. Don't know if we'll get there this trip. We've been middle of the strip centered so far (shopping at the Forum shops. Oh my!)

But a friend needs something from MGM Grand, so we'll head that way tomorrow. That, and John wants birthday dinner at the Luxor Steakhouse.

Kitties are fine. Plants are fine -- it rained! But Lee is disappointed that John secured the wireless network. :P (He's connected using a cable, though.)

Airport...
Sorry, it wasn't even so much about securing the network, as needing the ethernet cable to bring with us on vacation!

Whoops!

Re: Airport...
no, no... he has a wireless card and figured he could just tap into your network, but he can't. has to do it the old fashioned way. ;)

Re: Airport...
That's my fault. I forgot that I have it locked down with both a password for the encryption, and I have a white-list for MAC addresses. Whoops, maybe next time.

Re: Airport...
Obviously, he's the network administrator, and I'm just a user.

I didn't know that!
