Saturday, we got up early and headed to Enumclaw to the Scottish Highland Games. The event itself is fairly laid back, but I think it's lots of fun. There didn't seem to be as many vendors this time--maybe lots of folks are gearing up for the Ren Faire over on the Penninsula--but we found exactly what we were after--another picture for our bedroom, to go with the two we got last year, and a couple christmas presents. Watched the massing of the pipe bands, Scottish Athletic Competition (read: big men in kilts, tossing rocks, sacks of straw and trees), the Agility Demonstration (scotty dogs doing agility courses are hysterical!) and ate way too much. snorklet bought a pretty, perky purple plaid skirt. We ran into gymgeek's parents, but never saw unmisha or raine_wynd.
After much sunshine and good food, we headed back home....then out to dinner at The Spaghetti Factory. Yum. We won't even count the Weight Watchers Points consumed. It was all yummy.
Decided we didn't have it in us to catch a late movie, introduced snorklet to Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, which is Fab-u-lous! and called it an evening.
Sunday, I got up and played Master Gardener at the West Seattle Farmer's Market, and acquired much good organic produce. Came home, cleaned the bathroom, puttered in the yard, cooked dinner, and called it an early night.
Only 5 days until vacation.
