Friday night, I headed to the movies after work. Saw The Closet, which I highly recommend. French, over the top, wonderful. Got out of the movie, and waited for the bus.
Finally, a metro supervisor drives by to tell us that the power is out, "somewhere up on the Hill" and that diesel buses are on the way (my bus is usually an electric trolley).
The bus finally gets there, and we head up the hill, seeing spotty power outages all the way up. It must have something to do with the power grid, because the power would be on for a block, off for a block, on on one side of the street, off on the other.
Starbucks was dark, Tully's was doing a raging business.
My house was dark. And finding matches in the dark was an adventure. But I lit a bunch of candles, curled up on the couch with a book and the cat and had a good evening.
The power came on just before bedtime.
Had breakfast with Mark, catching up on the last couple months, then headed over to John's. We'd volunteered for airport taxi service, so went and collected Gordon, and dropped him ==true kiss and fly== at the curb, went to ikea, got the oil changed, and home to get ready for soccer. Played our game (another loss, but decent playing), went out with teammates for mexican food and beer, then home to change and head out for karaoke with House Virgule--now complete, with the addition of Alice!--and a couple more cocktails. Lasted until almost 1 a.m., then home and to bed.
Slept in, enjoyed some extremely quality time with my sweetie *wink wink*, went out for breakfast, and then headed to Puyallup to hang out with John's folks. John's dad made wonderful schnitzel, and his mom spoiled us with double-topping apple crisp. Just a relaxing afternoon/evening.
I sure didn't want to get up this morning, but I did.
Got to work, and got invited to the baseball game (championship game of the ALDS!) Look for me on TV!
