Cleaning house..and white elephants.

We're getting a small jump start on that "get things organized" New Year's Resolution.

First step is to admit that we're both clutter-hogs, which we've admitted. Now, we're trying to clear some of it out. So far, there's a big box to go to goodwill, and that's just the beginning.

But, in the clutter we found The Perfect White Elephant Gift for Lisa's party next year. I should just wrap it now, tag it White Elephant Lisa's 2009 and put it on the shelf.

And no, it's not an Egyptian Vase or a Man-Stabbed with Knives Knife block.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...

The midwestern child in me is delighted by the snow, but the adult Seattlite in me is getting tired of it.

We've been in Victoria since Sunday morning, after deciding to stay downtown Saturday night to be sure we could get to our ferry.

It's been cold and snowy up here in Victoria, too. Gorgeous, pretty, cold and snowy. I've come to the conclusion that while my boots are cute, they're not really cut out for serious snow, and definately not cut out for slush...

John's folks didn't make it up, due to the weather and due to Mickey's flights from Chicago getting cancelled, so it's been a quiet few days just spent with my favorite sweetheart. We've eaten and drank far too much, and had a great time.

I still want to come back and see this city in the summer though.

Here's what it looks like, courtesy of the Victoria local newspaper reader photos The inner harbour has a fine film of ice over it...and it looks like it's just starting to spit snow again. Whee fun...

Home again tomorrow...Hard to believe that Christmas is only 2 days away!!

I Can Has Kitten Now?

Meet Paul "Oreo" Boots Safranek....

Sophia's not exactly sure what to think of this new interloper....but it hasn't been as bad as I feared. A little hissing, and she's following him around to be sure he stays out of trouble...

I'm sure there'll be lots more pictures. He's doing really well, considering until tonight, he had 9 other cats to keep him company. (His mom was a stray who had 8 kittens under Tracy's (A friend of a friend of a friend) porch.
